"A Simple Amish Christmas" by Vannetta Chapman
The story opens with Annie returning home from living amongst the Englichers for about four years where she resided with her aunt. Not a truly rebellious girl, just strong-willed and looking for something else. While out of the Amish community and fellowship, Annie continued her education and became a registered nurse - a real "thou shalt not do" within the confines of the Amish.
However, she returns home, keeps her educational pursuit and achievement a secret, but begins to minister in a healing capacity to those in their community.
Right away she butts heads with Samuel and that is a story that will entertain you as well as allow you to see the inner hearts and workings of the Amish as individuals.
Again, a good read from Vannetta Chapman and one I heartily recommend.
