GOD MADE YOU JUST RIGHT by Jill Roman Lord [Review & Giveaway]

ISBN13: 9780824919764
Board Book - $7.99
My thoughts: Very young children need books and those books should be sturdy and they should have a decidedly artistic appeal and valuable message or story. In Jill Roman Lord's charming rhyme extolling the message to the young boy or girl that there is a purpose in how God has designed them (or made them) and that the design is just right, the criteria for a child's book is met.

Sized just right for youngster's little hands and with enough pages to give more opportunity for enjoyment than some typical board books.

The sweet, colorful, and charmingly playful illustrations by Amy Wummer will engage the child and encourage repeated readings. Probably so many readings that the child will end up memorizing the poem. And at the end of the book......

a verse.....

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
In a nutshell, the book tells ....little ones that God created each of us in just the right way."  A charming book that I recommend you acquire and place in the hands of some sweet young child.

About the book: Here is a message that every parent will want to share with his or her child: "You're brilliantly created and there's no one else like you!" With easy-to-understand descriptions and simple, rhyming text, Jill Roman Lord shares the message that God created each of us in just the right way in a manner that even the youngest child will understand. Bright and engaging illustrations from Amy Wummer pair perfectly with the text and enhance the appeal of the book.

  1. I teach my niece and my granddaughter to treat others as they would want to be treated, and that by doing so, they honor God. I also try to live by this.

  2. I think the bright colors will capture the children's attention. I like the sketched characters more than the realistic version.

  3. I think illustrations are very crucial to really giving life to the characters in a children's book. I really love when the pictures are very lively and animated.

  4. I teach children to know that God always their best interest and knows what is best for them.

  5. Illustrations are a big part of a book for a child, since the pictures are what attract a child who cannot read yet. I love the old fashioned illustrations.

  6. I learned that Ms. Lord won an award for her one book.

  7. I tell the children how well they do with whatever they just finished. I tell them they have special talents given to them. I also compliment others on their accomplishments and tell them what a good job it is.

  8. I learned that Jill received her Nursing Degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia, her Masters Degree from UNCC, and her Anesthesia Certification from Carolinas Medical Center School of Nurse Anesthesia. I find it interesting that her books are based on bible stories and/or principles and are geared towards children.

  9. I'd love to share this one with my two little guys! Thank you so much for linking up at Booknificent Thursday on Mommynificent.com this week!

  10. Thank you for sharing this book review.

I have a 17 month old granddaughter and it's wonderful to see great Christian books for little ones.

  11. My youngest son just started kindergarten and I told him that sometimes kids can not so nice but even if that happens he should always be good to everyone and sometimes just telling them that Jesus loves them too can change their day, their attitude. Always be kind and generous no matter how someone else may be acting. Don't be afraid to share about Jesus's love for us!

  12. I teach them to always be honest and like (love) their friends, because God wants us to love each other. I also teach that in our Sunday school class. They are older, but we stress that everyone should be treated with respect and consideration. Think before speaking and you won't regret what you say. God is proud of us when we are kind to others.
